Are you a CT operator, local authority transport specialist, transport commissioner? Then don't miss this opportunity to get to grips with some of the key issues affecting the community transport sector in the North East. Community Transport as well as helping those in need also helps funders, stakeholders and local government agencies to meet their core objectives, tackling social exclusion, urban regeneration and rural isolation issues by supporting accessibility and sustainability strategies. It can help local authorities to achieve their Local Transport Plan targets, and can provide training and support to get people back into work. However, in order to become sustainable itself, CT needs wider recognition of its contribution and value, together with longer-term core funding and opportunities to build capacity in the sector. This one-day event will bring together a range of experts and practitioners to highlight some of the opportunities for the sector, and chart a way through some of the pitfalls. it will be of interest to operators, local authorities, and transport commissioners, and will provide a great networking opportunity with people from across the North East. To book your place, please complete the attached form and either fax to 0191 202 3744 or email to Martin Gibson martin.gibson@gone.gsi.gov.uk Community Assets Fund Consultation Event for Tyne and Wear In December 2006 the Government announced its £30 million Community Assets Fund to expand the opportunities for communities to manage or own physical assets such as land or buildings. This free event will be held on the 14th June (9.30 – 12.30). Venue to be confirmed. If you wish further information and to book a place please follow the link: www.pentagonpartnership.org.uk
